چکیده
A B several hours. Ph ysical examination revealed a continuous bruit over a large left neck mass, numerous cafe au lait spots, and cu taneous neurofibromas. Radiographs of the cervical spine demonstrated marked bone dysplasia and kyphosis consistent with neurofibromatosis (fig . 1 A) . A fracture of the left transverse process of T1 was also present. Angiography disclosed branches of the left external caro tid artery supplying the superior part of the mass, a cervical neurof ibroma (fig. 18). Left subclavian artery injection demonstrated an enlarg ed and irregular thyrocervical trunk with con trast material filling a 5 x 6 cm fa lse aneurysm within a large cervical neurofibroma (fig . 1 C). Surgery confirmed th e angiographic diagnosis of false aneurysm formation within the inferior part of th e neurofibroma.

Traumatic Supratrochlear Artery Pseudoaneurysm With Spontaneous Resolution
Background: Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supratrochlear artery is a rare lesion. It manifests, as a painless mass, in the frontal region following trauma. The unusual incidence and confusing presentation require the clinicians to thoroughly understand its presentation and diagnosis. Diagnosis is typically made on history and physical examination, but it can be confirmed by duplex ultraso...
متن کاملVertebral artery dissection and cerebellar infarction following chiropractic manipulation.
Vertebral artery dissection (VAD) associated with chiropractic cervical manipulation is a rare but potentially disabling condition. In this report, we present a young patient manifesting with repeated vertigo. Owing to the initial misdiagnosis, the patient later developed cerebellar stroke with inability to stand or walk. Vertigo and disequilibrium are the usual presenting symptoms of this cond...
متن کاملVertebrobasilar ischemia after neck motion.
BACKGROUND Vertebrobasilar ischemic strokes may occur after chiropractic manipulation of the cervical spine or, less often, after spontaneous and abrupt head movement. SUMMARY OF REVIEW We describe three such cases of vertebrobasilar ischemic strokes and review 36 other reported cases. CONCLUSIONS We give evidence that 1) the population at risk cannot be identified a priori in the vast majo...
متن کاملCurrent understanding of the relationship between cervical manipulation and stroke: what does it mean for the chiropractic profession?
The understanding of the relationship between cervical manipulative therapy (CMT) and vertebral artery dissection and stroke (VADS) has evolved considerably over the years. In the beginning the relationship was seen as simple cause-effect, in which CMT was seen to cause VADS in certain susceptible individuals. This was perceived as extremely rare by chiropractic physicians, but as far more comm...
متن کاملTranscatheter Embolization of a Ruptured Internal Pudendal Artery Pseudoaneurysm in a Patient with Neurofibromatosis Type 1
Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) is an autosomal dominant disorder. Pseudoaneurysms formation and rupture is an unusual complication of neurofibromatosis. To date, pseudoaneurysm of the internal pudendal artery associated with NF-1 has not been reported. In this article, we present a 62-yr-old man with NF-1 suffering from spontaneous hematoma of the perinea and scrotum. A digital substraction an...
